Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe

Yet another iconic classic is the short story the Tell-Tale Heart, told from the perspective of a man explaining a murder he carried out, all whilst trying to convince the reader of his sanity. If you enjoy this quick, spooky read, you might enjoy some of Edgar Allen Poe's other gothic short stories, such as "Berenice," "The Pit and the Pendulum," "Hop-Frog," and quite a few others.
Verity by Colleen Hoover

Colleen Hoover’s Verity is a dark and disturbing tale of romance and suspense. When Lowen Ashleigh gets the opportunity of a lifetime and is hired by Jeremy Crawfard to finish the highly successful book series of his recently incapacitated wife Verity, she has no idea what secrets she is about to uncover.
